Family INSAT (Indian National Satellite)

The INSAT (Indian National Satellite) system is a multipurpose geostationary satellite system for telecommunications, television broadcasting, meteorology and search & rescue services.

The overall objective of the INSAT meteorological program is to provide round-the- clock surveillance service of weather systems including severe weather events around the Indian region.
