Description The position will be available from 1 August 2017. The employment contract is limited to two years. The regular weekly working time will be 39 hours. The salary is based on the collective agreement TVöD-Bund. The place of work is Freiberg.

  • degree in the field of geosciences, surveying or related subject
  • technical skills
  • first experience in operating hyperspectral cameras, drones and surveying instruments is of advantage
  • willingness to join extensive field work in remote areas
  • analytical skills from an interdisciplinary perspective
  • (very) good written and verbal communication skills in German and English
  • high sense of responsibility, commitment and personal resilience as well as independently
  • drivers licence class B

  • operation of the hyperspectral cameras and the drill-core scanner in field and lab
  • data acquisition with the divisions equipment in the field and in the lab as well as support of the scientists and guidance on relevant equipment
  • assistant administration of the divisions equipment (e.g., Specim AisaFenix, Trimble GNSS, various drones, Bruker XRF, compact van) and their maintenance
  • transfer and administration of field data on the servers with QA/QC
  • (Pre-)Processing of raw data and respective documentation
  • logistics and supervision of field campaigns.
