A studentship is now available for one of three planetary science PhD projects in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, funded by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC). The STFC is a world-leading multi-disciplinary science organisation with a clear mission: to deliver economic, societal, scientific and international benefits to the UK and to the world.
- Applicants should have a first or upper-second-class degree in planetary science, geology, or a related discipline.
- See also the detailed criteria for each project.
- STFC regulations state that to normally be eligible for a full award, a student must have no restrictions on how long they can stay in the UK and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years prior to the start of the studentship (with some further constraint regarding residence for education).
- To be eligible for a fees-only award, a student must be ordinarily resident in a member state of the EU.
