About the position
The Norwegian Meteorological Institute is seeking 1 scientist / scientific programmer for projects handling remote sensing earth observation data. The position is for three years. The place of work will be in Oslo or Tromsø.
The Norwegian Meteorological Institute is among the leading national and international institutions within analysis of remote sensing data, distributed data management and weather services. The institute has a strong focus on transforming research into services for the society, and collaborates actively with other national and international institutions. A large part of the work is externally financed.
Responsibility / work tasks
The position is related to the development and operation of the value chains that make remote sensing earth observation data available to internal and external users using modern data management principles in accordance with the FAIR guiding principles.
The tasks of the position include system development and system implementation in both test and operational environments, documentation and publication of datasets, visualization of remotely measured earth observation data and guidance to users. The work requires good technical and scientific qualifications.
