University of Edinburgh's College of Science and Engineering, School of GeoSciences is looking for a project officer to coordinate the SECO project, an ambitious 5 year programme of work to understand the carbon cycle of the world’s tropical savannas and dry forests. As the SECO project officer, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the project, collaborating with other scientists around the world. You will need a strong interest in ecosystem ecology as well as excellent project and data management skills.
This is an opportunity to work in a diverse team of scientists. There will be opportunities to develop both your scientific and project management skills and you will take responsibility for many aspects of the day to day running of the project. The project officer role provides an opportunity to work on a cutting edge science project that mixes fieldwork, remote sensing and modelling. There will be opportunities to participate in fieldwork and overseas meetings, once it is safe to do so. The role is potentially extendable beyond the initial 1 year appointment.
