As the science and knowledge service of the European Commission, the mission of DG Joint Research Centre is to support EU policies with independent evidence throughout the whole policy cycle. The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) is located in 5 Member States (Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain). The two positions are for the JRC site in Ispra, Italy.
The Unit JRC.C.6 "Economics of Climate Change, Energy and Transport (ECCET)" conducts economic analysis of climate, energy and transport policies, both at the EU and global level, using different databases and expertise with in-house economic models and econometric tools.
The ECCET unit offers two postdoc positions to contribute to the European climate risk assessment. The main objective of this project is to assess the impacts of climate change in and outside Europe (transboundary or spill-over effects) on the EU. The research underpins climate policy actions under the European Green Deal, EU Adaptation Strategy and Paris Climate Agreement. The analysis integrates JRC and international climate, biophysical and socioeconomic modelling to assess a wide range of impacts of climate change: on people, ecosystems, human assets and economic sectors.
