Join GEO for a week-long showcase on the impact of open Earth observations
Save the Date: 2-6 November 2020
The Group on Earth Observations (GEO) invites you to attend the annual GEO Week 2020 to be held entirely online.
Focused on the key priorities of boosting the digital economy, promoting sustainable development, supporting national Earth observation initiatives and highlighting approaches to open data, this week-long series of events will engage leaders from across the GEO community to share insights, lessons and advance policies and programmes that impact our planet.
Sessions will take place across multiple time zones to promote live participation from around the globe. Several sessions will be pre-recorded and will be made available online through a variety of streaming platforms and available on the GEO website.
A highlight this year will be the Industry Track with two days of dedicated sessions to connect the Earth observations Industry with GEO Associates and the GEO Work Programme. With a focus on Small, Medium and Micro-sized Enterprises, it will feature virtual talks, matchmaking B2B and B2G in virtual rooms, giveaways, the Space Tech Challenge Competition announcement and more. Organized in collaboration with ZA Space and the South African Department of Science and Innovation, this online event aims to build momentum for an in-person Industry Track in Port Elizabeth, South Africa next year.
This week will also feature:
- The GEO Awards ceremony
- A global fundraising campaign kick-off
- An opportunity to meet GEO Members
- Live panel discussions
- And more…
