Invitation to Tender: “Demonstrator precursor digital assistant interface for Digital Twin Earth (DTE)”

There is a growing amount and variety of Earth Observation (EO) data from space and it becomes more and more complex to interface, query and discover the right data for the right application. 

Rapid advances in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP) driven by accelerating progress in Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms can help, by leading to entirely new ways to interface and gain insight from big data through simple questioning, as demonstrated with the rapid emergence of chatbots and digital assistants.

In this context, the overall objective of this activity is to foster the development of the new generation of AI-powered “Digital Assistant” interface to big EO data by harnessing the progress in and convergence of diverse AI technologies such as NLP and computer vision. This activity aims to foster development of the new generation of AI-powered “Digital Assistant” interface to EO data and Digital Twin Earth (DTE)-type information, also including elements of Explainable AI (xAI) to ensure better interpretable and trustworthy sciences and innovative commercial applications.
