Context and objectives

The potential use of satellite remote sensing is obvious for many applications fields. With the high resolution systems, the monitoring of fast-growing cities is one of the most promising application. However, recent surveys about the current usage of remote sensing show that the operational uses are not as developed as expected, even when the feasibility is already demonstrated. In order to enhance the operational use of remote sensing, we propose to analyse the process of decision making applied to the urban management in order to find the best ways to introduce the remote sensing through standard products, and to develop simple analysis tools allowing urban specialist to analyse data and take decision by themselves.
