The Royal Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy (BIRA-IASB) is organizing the 12th Atmospheric Limb Workshop, which will take place from the 22nd to the 26th of May 2023 (programme and exact timing still to be defined).
The event will take place at the “Palais des Académies”, located in the heart of Brussels.
The limb workshop is a scientific conference gathering research teams involved in the development and data processing of atmospheric limb missions. Past (e.g. SAGE-II, SCIAMACHY, GOMOS), current (e.g. SAGE-III/ISS, OSIRIS, OMPS-LP), and future (e.g. ALTIUS, MATS, CAIRT, CubeMap, SAGE-IV, ARGOS, ALI) Earth observation missions will be tackled.
This 12th iteration of the workshop will have a new feature: the organizers have offered to open the workshop to planetary limb missions (e.g. SOIR/VEx, NOMAD/TGO, OMEGA/MEx), so that scientists facing similar challenges on different planets can exchange ideas and techniques.
The scientific programme will be built based on the contributions submitted in the following topics:
- Upcoming limb instruments
- Limb scatter: techniques, algorithms, products
- Occultation: techniques, algorithms, products
- Emissions: techniques, algorithms, products
- Aerosol and clouds: profiles, composition, trends
- Trace gases: profiles, trends
- Limb products validation
- Assimilation of limb products, and synergistic exploitation
- ALTIUS
The submission deadline
for the 12th Atmospheric Limb Workshop
has been extended to January 25.
Abstract submission can be done through the event page. When submitting your abstract, you may choose one or more applicable topics. You may also write in the comments section if you have a preference for an oral or poster presentation. There is no cost for submitting an abstract, and you may submit multiple abstracts.
