The Role
To achieve our goals, we are building a state-of-the-art Data Platform, which transfers our satellite data to the cloud, where we process, enrich, and deliver analysis-ready geospatial data to internal and external customers.
As our senior cloud engineer, you will contribute to developing this Data Platform, focusing especially on operations. You will have a key role in designing and infrastructure using, while using modern technologies, including Python, S3, Docker, Terraform, Zarr, Cloud-Optimized GeoTiffs, STAC, PostGIS, and more. Your role will involve the following;
- Working closely with other cloud engineers in the infrastructure team and stakeholders, e.g., from the software, product, and image segment teams, to ensure their requirements are being met.
- Collaboratively designing and implementing the different components of a Cloud-Native Geospatial Data Platform to enable its acquisition, dissemination and intelligence abilities.
- Building and maintaining a state-of-the-art Cloud environment for all engineering sections of the company to provide the best tools and methodologies to all.
- Keeping up to date with and evaluating new technologies, frameworks and standards.
- Mentoring cloud engineers to help them reach their potential.
Location
Ideally you will be based in Germany or Belgium, our offices are Freiburg, Munich, Berlin or Brussels – this role is offered on a remote basis with some travel for team and project meetings.
