The Ventura County coastline was hit hard when a rogue wave injured eight people. This image, acquired by a Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite on 1 January 2024, shows the turbidity of the seawater as a result of increased wave activity.
By analysing data collected by the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites, researchers can determine the concentration of suspended particles in the water, which is a key indicator of its turbidity.
