On 8 (PM), 9 (whole day) and 10 (AM) September, the Royal Academy for Overseas Sciences (RAOS) and the Royal Belgian Institute for Natural Sciences (RBINS) are organising a joint meeting with the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on the theme of Ecosystems in a changing world.

Our world is changing under direct and indirect human pressure. The demographic pressure requires more and more resources, but the development of our societies has also put increasing pressure on our environment. One of the worrying phenomenons is the impact of climate change, which has long been a theoretical issue but is now becoming a more and more observable reality. The meeting in September will focus on the impact of the changes in our world (demographics, industrial development, climate, etc.) on different ecosystems, from terrestrial ecosystems, over coastal to oceanic ecosystems
