On 2 November, the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), in cooperation with the World Meteorological Organisation, published the “State of the Climate in Europe Report”.
The report contains a detailed analysis of the rising temperatures, heat waves, extreme weather events and patterns that were observed in 2021 in Europe.
This image produced by C3S shows the annual average air surface temperature anomaly in Europe and clearly identifies that, in 2021, above-average temperatures were recorded over the entire continent. The report highlights that temperatures in Europe are rising at a pace which is more than twice the global average, and higher than any other continent.
