Storm Isha made landfall in the UK on 21 January, bringing strong winds and heavy rain that left thousands without power overnight in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and north-west England.
Thanks to the Copernicus' Sentinel satellites and their open data, scientists and meteorologists have access to a vast amount of data that can be used to mitigate and/or monitor the impact of extreme weather events, which are becoming more intense and frequent as a consequence of climate change.
