BE reasearcher part of Earth Systems Lab leading the "Foundation Models in Extreme Environments" project!

Joppe Massant previously involved in the STEREO project NORTH-HEAT and now working for the Hydro-Climate Extremes lab at UGent is involved during this summer in a project called "Foundation Models in Extreme Environments"

The goal: Explore the potential (and limits!) of Foundation Models, and how we could overcome those limits. This in cooperation with the European Space Agency - ESA.

Because, if we’ll be using these models, we need to do it right without blindly trusting them for crucial decisions.

The coming weeks will be intense for Joppe, but with this incredibly clever group of interdisciplinary researchers, they can make a lot happen!
