In response to the devastating ongoing floods, the European Union has committed to providing Greece with financial aid totaling more than 2 billion euro. This pledge comes as a welcome relief to the country as it grapples with the aftermath of the natural disasters that have ravaged its land and communities. The funds are expected to support reconstruction efforts and aid in the recovery and restoration of the affected areas.
The Copernicus Sentinel satellites provide valuable data to identify and delineate the extent of affected areas when a flood occurs and to monitor the consequences of such disastrous events.
