The ski resorts of Sierra Nevada in Andalusia, Spain, have benefitted from record snowfall this season. Out of 112 km of ski trails, 97 km are currently open. This surpasses previous records and underscores the region's reputation as a prime destination for winter sports enthusiasts. The substantial snow accumulation has delighted skiers and snowboarders, offering exceptional conditions for winter activities in the picturesque mountain range. The record snowfall bodes well for the local tourism sector by drawing visitors to the stunning winter landscape of Sierra Nevada.

The Copernicus Land Monitoring Service product portfolio includes Snow & Ice (HR-S&I) Monitoring products, which provide high-resolution (20 m x 20 m) information derived from Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite data on snow and ice conditions in the 38 Member States and Cooperating Countries of the European Environment Agency.
