Context and objectives
To investigate the potential use of high-resolution satellite imagery in the fields of land use mapping, geographic information systems (GIS) and agrostatistics.
Project outcome
Expected scientific results
A generalised classification (9 broad land use categories) was achieved without any field data, as in this case the necessary train-pixels could easily be extracted from the imagery by means of photo interpretation.
All mentioned procedures concerning image processing and modelling were compiled into a menu driven PC-software package.
