The PROBA-V mission was initially conceived as a gap-filler, a mission to continue the long standing time series of SPOT-VEGETATION (since 1998), used by thousands worldwide for vegetation monitoring, while the world awaited the arrival of the Copernicus Sentinels, notably Sentinel-3.
Taking stock of the current use PROBA-V data, in this final year of the mission, the added value of the 100 m centre camera capability and its fusion with the 300 m observations is evident.
